david vs. goliath

A “David vs. Goliath” situation

Sandwiched between Azerbaijan on the East (population of 10 million), Turkey on the West (84 million), and the Islamic Republic of Iran on the South (with over 20 million Azeris), Armenia’s population struggles to approach 3 million.

This predominately Christian nation is about the land size of Maryland, surrounded by peoples and ideologies that desire to see Armenia’s destruction. The odds are stacked against them. But like David, they have a strong faith in God who defies all odds!

(I’ve prepared some additional background information if you would like to know more).

What’s Happened

9/27/20 – Azerbaijan (backed by Turkey) launched a missile and aerial attack on Artsakh, targeting civilians. [1]

9/29/20 – The attack expands to Armenia, prompting martial law in Artsakh and Armenia.

Please Pray For:

  • Protection of the soldiers, their families, and citizens

  • Wisdom for the military and political leaders

  • Civilians wounded and displaced

  • For resources needed to care for those in need (food, clothing, and shelter)

  • Our pastors and church leaders to courageously provide moral and spiritual support

  • Peace to prevail.

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1)

[1] Artsakh, officially the Republic of Artsakh or the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, is a partially recognized country in the South Caucasus. Neighboring countries include Azerbaijan, which does not recognize the independence of Artsakh, and claims it as part of Azeri territory.
